Are there any risks associated with therapy?

Like any treatment, there are risks and benefits. Therapy is hard work as you navigate new skills and explore potentially difficult topics. This can leave you feeling various emotions and having different types of reactions.

With this, Courtney strives to provide a safe space during times of vulnerability. She uses strategies such as: Safety Plans as needed and discussing consent and comfort level prior to engaging in difficult topics and new skills. This allows open communication to ensure you stay within your comfort zone and control your journey of growth at your pace.

I’ve tried therapy before but it didn’t work. How will this be different?

Every therapist has a different approach, life experience and professional experience. With this, therapists are unique just like clients. It is important that both client and therapist are comfortable and can create a good professional relationship with one another.
